Engineering the Process Behind the Product

The right moulded-fiber product begins with the right technology.

Moulded Fiber Manufacturing: An Engineered Process Beyond Simple Pulp Forming

Manufacturing moulded fiber is not simply about forming pulp into a shape.

It is a carefully engineered process involving raw-material preparation, pulp conditioning, forming, dewatering, drying, hot pressing, trimming, inspection, stacking and automation – configured around the geometry, performance requirements and production volume of the final product.

Building the Technology Pathway: From Product Needs to Production Reality

From individual machines to complete production lines, we help build the technology pathway behind the product.

Through our association with BeSure Technology, Disruptive Ventures connects product requirements with the appropriate manufacturing technology, production-line configuration and tooling strategy.

MOULDED FIBER PRODUCTION LINES

From Raw Fiber to Finished Product

A moulded-fiber factory is an integrated production ecosystem.

Depending on the product, a complete line can incorporate:

PULPING → REFINING → FORMING → DRYING → HOT PRESSING → TRIMMING → INSPECTION → STACKING

Supporting systems can include:

  • Vacuum systems
  • High-pressure water systems
  • Air-compressor systems
  • Pulp preparation and transfer systems
  • Mould-cleaning systems
  • Product transfer systems
  • Control and monitoring systems

BeSure’s production lines are configured according to the application, product geometry, output requirement and level of automation. Its industrial packaging, egg tray and egg carton lines demonstrate different combinations of these core systems.

Technology Designed Around Production

The objective is not simply to install machinery.

It is to develop a balanced production system where each stage works together to achieve the required output, quality and operating efficiency.

TABLEWARE TECHNOLOGY

High-Volume Forming. Precision Hot Pressing. Consistent Output.

Moulded-fiber tableware requires controlled forming, drying and hot pressing to achieve the required shape, strength, surface finish and dimensional consistency.

BeSure’s tableware systems can process pulp derived from materials such as bagasse, bamboo, wood, reed and straw, depending on the selected process configuration.

Core Technology

  • Pulp preparation and refining
  • Vacuum pulp forming
  • Product transfer
  • Drying
  • Hot pressing
  • Trimming
  • Stacking
  • Optional post-treatment

Post-treatment can include processes such as edge cutting, punching, coating, labelling and printing where required.

Scalable Production

BeSure offers tableware configurations across different production capacities. Its published examples include systems around 4 TPD, 6 TPD and higher-capacity configurations, with final capacity dependent on product design, weight, mould configuration and operating conditions.

The technology scales with the manufacturing objective.

HIGH-END PACKAGING TECHNOLOGY

Precision Manufacturing for High-Value Products

High-end moulded-fiber packaging demands a different level of control.

The technology must accommodate fine geometry, dimensional accuracy, surface quality, product fit and repeatability.

BeSure’s high-precision technology is designed for applications including fine-art packaging, premium product packaging and selected high-precision products such as cup lids.
